I'm so mean...

A little Jim Beam on the rocks, my new copy of A Girl called Eddy and the new issue of Gum. Not to mention my new Indonesian doll. God! And to think sometimes I manage to complain! Sock me! Please! Yesterday Jena and I, plus Nills, Nick and Sam went to Spike & Mike's Sick and Twisted Animation Festival. It was my first one since I've been living in Denver. The highlight was Happy Tree Friends . A really cute but sick cartoon. Most of the movies (shorts) were just plain gross. I always thought about submitting my movie to this big festival, but after seeing it last night, I'm not even sure if I'm suitable material (not a lot of blood...I think).
Man, Erin Moran (Eddie) rocks!

Luke...I am your uncle!

Yesterday we stopped at the Westminster Mall, so Jena could buy some eye glasses. Without knowing, we stumbled onto a Star Wars collectible show. Holly Bologna! It was fantastic. Every single Star Wars figure...from 78 'till today. The "collector" even had a 4 inches Luke Skywalker figure worth over $1,000 dollars. Not to mention the guy (forgot his name)is a pastor in some little church here in Colorado. Are you kidding me? Isn't venerating Icons idolatry? He sure had a lot of those...To be honest, I don't give a rat's ass, but I know I was certainly jealous! God Damn!!!!

Nicole's Birthdate...

So the private party last night at the Gothic Theater was fairly ok. The sound system wasn't working on its full potential (no return speakers), which caused a few mistakes, since we couldn't hear each other very well. It was a late show (11:30PM on a Monday night), especially when you get there at 7:30PM for a sound check that never happened. Jena and I even had an argument over some stupid shit...which we later worked out. So here are some more pics.

I woke up so tired this morning, I forgot to shut the alarm off (yes, I have an alarm system in my house). Which brought two of my neighboors to my front door. It wasn't a pretty scene: three messy haired guys on their sleeping wear standing in the front hallway. Talking about nonsense...ah?

And...Ta ta tara!

Well, I finally got it. After almost a month and a half hunting down on E-bay, I scored this super good looking puppet:

"Wayang Golek" - a three dimensional wooden rod puppet originally from the Java Island in Indonesia. It has a movable head and movable arms with the aid of sticks attached to the hands and torso. The head and headdress are carved from a single block of wood and then hand-painted Bali style. Man... and it was cheap. I was the only bidder. The shipping cost is almost the same as the cost of the whole puppet. Sandra from Sighshop was a sweetheart. I was very pleased. And now...to the movies....

Hangover Free Saturday!

Another show at the Larimer Lounge. An acoustic set, since we were openning for the British songwriter Alexi Murdoch, which I must say is much better live than on his CD. Great performance! The sound guy was new, and he really sucked. Muffled all the vocals, and the sound on the stage was really bad. But we managed to get through, even with a broken capo. I wish we had the whole band there, but Mr. Murdoch is a folk singer, who plays by himself. It would be really rude to open an act like that with a full band...

Yesterday, we had a lot more people coming to see us than the show on August 5th. Which consequently led to a night of dancing to britpop at La Rumba. God! it was a long time ago since I last danced to New Order.

For the amount of liquor i had last night, I feel good! Pretty good! Jena, Michael, Sam...and even Josh and the other Michael showed up. It was a good night. For sure. Right now, I'm trying to get my shit together here, so I can go to Mark's studio. I'm recording 2 tracks on Judith's new album and let me tell you: She can sing like no one else.

A lazy Wednesday!

On Thursday we got some more wood chips for the turtle tank. I found out why Harold didn't like to sleep in the cave: it was to wet...I over estimated the amount of humidity they needed. So now things are good in the land of the turtles. I went nuts yesterday printing Old West pictures from the web. I wanted a little backdrop for my cowboy scene in the living room...
